24th Feb 2009 - U-Cover Web Launch
We are proud to announce the successful launch of phase one of the U-Cover web site, we hope you find it informative and easy to navigate.
You may notice a number of sections of the site are still under construction; the majority of these are waiting on the launch of U-Cover's suite of General Insurance products due out in Nov 2009. Once our General Insurance products become available we plan to provide detailed information and links to purchase these products online.
As we are still in the building phase we'd love to hear your feedback on the site so far (complimentary or critical) and any suggestions you might have for future improvements. Please click here to email our webmaster.
24th Feb 2009 - Keep Your Family Safe by Staying One Step Ahead This Summer
Australia is now in the midst of its annual bushfire season, with most property losses occurring between September and March. Increasing urban development and a climate that is getting both drier and warmer present an increased risk for all property owners.
You can help protect your family and assets by reducing the risk of loss or damage occurring as the result of a bushfire.
To assist you, we’ve listed some useful tips:
» Keep gutters clean, shrubs well pruned and clear away all flammable items from around the house including paper,
» boxes, crates, hanging baskets and leaves;
» repair roofing that is not secure,
» install screens and shutters to prevent any embers entering
» Create a fire break around the house and ensure that lawns or grass areas are maintained and;
» Develop or revise a bushfire escape plane in case of an emergency
Whilst the tips listed above will help minimise risk, there is no guarantee that your home will be safe in the event of a bushfire. If threatened by a bushfire do not risk your life or the lives of your family by sticking around to save your assets. Make sure you evacuate to safety as a first priority.
Home and Contents insurance is there to provide protection for these assets and help you return to a normal lifestyle.
